Captain Dan's Corner

Ahoy !
April is shaping up to be a busy month at the SailTime ASA sailing school ! Our first 104/105 class is nearing conclusion with a Santa Cruz Island cruise on Imagine planned.

Meanwhile, many of you are working your way through 101 and 103 classes. Both "Sweet Deal", our (new to us) Catalina 22, berthed in front of H&S Yachts and "Pup", our Victory 21, berthed at Ventura West Marina in the Ventura Harbor, are getting daily workouts with many new members graduating to either Imagine or Rainbow later this month.

In addition, when these two small craft are not being used for lessons, many of you have expressed an interest in taking her out on your own for additional training. You can do this, but make sure you call me at 750-7828 to plan around the lessons.

Tips for Keeping Your Boat Ship Shape

With the busy sailing season nearly upon us and lots of back to back sailing sessions on the boats, please remember to clean up well after yourself as we will not be able to get on the boats in between every usage. Give the boat a good fresh water rinse and towel off the stainless. Only use the squeegee to dry the windows. Towels scratch it!@#

Get a FREE month of membership ! Refer us a new Member or an Owner/Member and we'll give you a free month ! Only 1 space available on Imagine and 4 spaces on Rainbow.

Weather Outlook
The rather bizarre weather this winter is now being attributed to another El Nino weather pattern. The good side to this pattern is we expect to see warmer temps and less fog this sailing season - woohoo !

Welcome to Rainbow Members
Membership interest is running high for our new Hunter 33 joining the fleet. Rainbow strutted her stuff at the recent H&S Yachts Spring Open House. Quite a number of member prospects got to take a ride and learn more about SailTime and Monthly membership which is set at $445 are beginning to fill up for the 7 positions that will be available no later than May 1. Berthing is currently slated for Vintage marina. Jerry Roth is the Owner/Member putting her into service. Jerry has raced a J30 for some time and is ready to relax on a new Hunter yacht. With a little luck we will place a third Hunter yacht, our first 36, into our fleet by late Summer.

Rainbow sits at the H&S docks in the Channel Islands Harbor during her commissioning process. Member sailing is expected to commence no later than May 1st.

Have you seen the new SailTime web site? its in the process of getting a huge update that will evolve with all of our new expansion.
