Calling Volunteers
Anacapa Yacht Club is hosting the Sabot Junior Nationals August 27 & 28 and is desperately looking for volunteers to help out as they are expecting hundreds of entries. If you would like to help out, please let Chris know ASAP, so I can let the club know SailTime will be there to support the local sailing community. I'll be there too !

Mark Your Calendar
We've set the date for our first ever member Christmas party- Sunday December 4th from 3ish to 7ish at the Anacapa Yacht Club. A good time is guaranteed so mark your calendars now !

Cleaning Up
With both boats basically full and Summer in full swing, It's hard to get on them to keep them as pristine as we want to for you. So, we have added a small vacume cleaner to each boat to help you clean up. Please leave your boat as nice as possible for the next sailors.

Cruising ? Going on an overnight cruise? Call Chris at 984-1952 when you leave the harbor and when you return.

Ahoy Mateys !
July was a great month for sailing even though the marine layer persisted pretty much. It stayed up high to not

be much of a danger and tended to keep the high summer winds down to a low roar !

This session of 104/105 is wrapping up and I am proud of the way this large group of sailors has grasped the concepts of navigation that certainly challenge the old brain cells. I'm excited to be graduating a boatload of ST navigators joining the esteemed Dennis Dreith aka HTN. This is an important step as it is the final rung in the ladder for graduating from Novice to Captain. As you know graduation for that is in the BVI. Most of these folks will be lucky enough to go down to that international SailTime event in 2006. Meanwhile back at the ranch, I'm working hard with new members and 101/103 but can make time for you anytime, so call me !

Get a FREE 1 Year AYC Membership !
Refer us a new Member or an Owner/Member and we'll give you a free 1 Year Membership to the
Anacapa Yacht Club !

Owner Members ? Are you thinking of becoming an Owner Member ? We need Owner Members now ! We are looking for people who want to own a 33 or 36 sooner than later. Right now we need another 33 and soon after we will begin to build a fleet of 36's. Contact Chris now for more information. If you are ready to start the process in 2006, now is the time to begin.

Are we having fun yet ?

1st Annual SailTime Catalina Reunion
The first ever SailTime Reunion was held in conjunction with the annual Hunter Rendevous, 7/29-31 at Two Harbors on Catalina Island. A boat from the San Diego and Newport Beach bases joined both Channel Islands based boats for a fun time. In all, over 50 Hunter boats of all shapes, sizes and ages with nearly 200 crewmates converged at The Isthmus for a weekend of partying, learning and sailing.

It was a 12 hour sail each way and for most members this was their first real taste of long distance cruising. The weather was fantastic and the sailing was great. 3 of the 5 members got to work on their 104/105 practical skills and everyone got to sail on a Hunter with a cruising spinnaker which delighted everyone. Look for these sails to spring up on our boats in the not too distant future.

With just a little luck we hope to take 4 boats down for the annual cruising event next year which will give more room for more members to join in. Cataliina is a challenging and long sail from here and you get to use all the skills Captain Dan has been pouring into our brains over the past several months.

SailTime social events are open to all members on a first come first serve basis. They are booked irregularly on the boats so as not to take away from regular member time and intended for those who like to meet and sail with other members !
