If You Love Our Beaches September 19th Is Your Day to Chip In!

The annual Ventura County Coastal Cleanup Day is coming up. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the event which takes place from 9am to noon on Saturday, September 19th. The coastal cleanup event is part of a worldwide effort to keep beaches, shorelines and inland waterways cleaner.

Last year, more than 2500 volunteers spread out across the Ventura County beaches of Oxnard and Ventura to pitch in. Once again, this year, the event is coordinated by The Ventura Countywide Coalition for Coastal and Inland Waterways.

It’s a pretty simple thing to do. Grab some friends, a pair of work gloves and head to your favorite stretch of beach, including Mandalay Beach in Oxnard at Neptune Square and the North End of Silver Strand Beach. Additionally, several locations are official meeting points in Ventura  as well as Ormond Beach and Mugu Rock Beach to our South. For more information about locations and the effort go to our local cleanup site.
