Good job Chris. I think you really captured the essence of the FMF with your picture and your write up. John and his son were determined to recapture the "cup" and they ran a great race. But Varekai was not about to give up. She was gaining on 1421 near the finish and John admitted that he was starting to get a little nervious towards the end. Captain Jim on Bodacious, known for his surprizing last leg burst of speed, made a tactical error rounding Gina and could not keep up with the pack (I am not sure that the sea lions on Gina's mooring buoy feel it's safe to return).

But the fun race is only half of the event. Sailing makes everyone hungry, and participants contributed to great appitezers including spinach dip, backed brie, fruit and (your right) a variety of desserts including mini eclairs, cookies, pineapple upsidedown cake, and brownies.

If you like sailing, good company, and good food, then the FMF can't be beat!
