A Southern California Sailing Sunrise

Published by sailtimeci at 3:58 pm under Sailing

When we made an overnight passage to Catalina from Channel Islands Harbor a couple weekends ago I was on the “dawn patrol” watch which allowed me to snap some stupendous sunrise photos. This was the best of the bunch, but there were quite a few like this as it was an incredible morning on the high seas !Sunrise on the high seas 25 miles off the coast of Southern California
I am off to the BVI the middle of next week, so there wont be any postings till mid month. We are making our annual Fall sojurn down to sailing disneyland for the SailTime Novice to Captain Flotilla. This time we are graduating 3 members from the Channel Islands base, one from Virginia Beach and one from San Diego. A rather wicked little low pressure system is passing through that region today. But with just a little luck it will be all wrung out by the time we get there and we will find ourselves in a glorious transition week between systems !
