All Eyes on West Coast for Weather News
I hardly ever get to talk about the weather, here – in Southern California. The old tune, “it never rains in Southern California“, is all too real for us. But according to folks that know, we have an El Nino that has recently been strengthening. It has led to a very light hurricane season in the Atlantic so far and a fairly active season in the Eastern Pacific.
The Baja is prepping for yet another storm; Tropical Storm Patricia is forecast to make a glancing blow to Cabo in the next day before heading West.
Further North, here in California we anticipate a rain event. This will be the first measurable precipitation we have seen since the Spring. The majority of the storm appears to be poised to hit North of Point Conception, about 75 miles north of us. Winds here this afternoon have already clocked around to the South East with rain expected here beginning tomorrow mid-day. This web site displays the play by play of both storm systems out west very well.
Batten down your hatches! My new place has a weather station with rain gauge! So look for a wrap up if we actually do get weather here!
