America’s Cup 33 Challenge Match Date Set
In what might be the final day in court, today, a New York Judge confirmed that the next America’s Cup should take place in February 2010 in Valencia, Spain. it is believed that this ruling should end any further delay to the legendary race.
At the same time, Justice Kornreich instructed the Golden Gate Yacht Club’s BMW Oracle to provide the “Custom-House Registry” as soon as possible. This means it is time for BMW to disclose the dimensions of the boat that the American Challenger will be using. It is not known if the current trimaran seen flying around San Diego Bay is the boat they will race or whether they are constructing something else. Either way Alinghi has some catching up to do as BMW Oracle has been testing their current mammoth Tri for nearly a year. Stay tuned…
