Annual Captains Cruise Flotilla Heads to the Sea of Abaco
Perhaps one of the sweetest fruits of SailTime Membership is the opportunity to take a sailing vacation anywhere one wants in the world. All year long, a Member sails in their home waters honing their seamanship skills. Because they don’t own a boat and therefor aren’t tied to the dock, jetting of to the Med or Tahiti is part of the pleasure of the hassle free situation! And that’s what we’ve done for the past few years, enjoying the BVI’s several times, Mallorca Spain in 2007 and French Polynesia last year.
This year, we are headed to the Sea of Abaco. Located in the Bahamas, it is one of the largest coral reef archipelago’s in the world. According to our planning, it will provide a mix of flat water sailing behind the reef, a different snorkeling spot several times a day, and a lot more shoreside amenities and activities, for better or worse, than we found in Tahiti last year. We start converging in Marsh Harbor towards the end of the week and will sail for 10 days amongst the Abacos. Look for a report and pics when we get back mid month.
