OK, so sure, the single American entry to the America’s Cup did not make the finals. But other than that the racing we are getting to see courtesy of the Versus channel is some of the most exicting I have ever seen. Here we are at the 6th race and it still could go either way. Although it looks like the momentum may be on Alinghi’s side. It really has been just a couple crucial mistakes by the Kiwis that has let the Swiss take the lead.

I want to formally make this public protest to American sports media. Hello ? Last time I looked, there are a lot of sailboats in this country. I agree that it is not a national sport like it is in the UK or France or New Zealand. But the coverage of this global event by US media is woeful to say the least.

When we visited Valencia earlier this month the Port America’s Cup venue was one of the most impressive public works projects I have ever seen. We could learn alot from this type of land use planning. So many waterfronts in the US are polluted and abandoned industrial complexes that could be turned into vibrant nautical communities which in turn attract all kinds of possibilities to a city.

Check out my America’s Cup Video on the Tuber. Its my latest video creation.
