Cheerio II
Cheerio II is by far the most outstanding yacht in our harbor. Oh, sure, there are probably plenty of boats worth more $. But none of them that I know of hold all of the qualities this old girl does.

What’s more, she is owned by one of the most genuine couples you would ever want to know. Dick and Juanita McNish have so many friends you’d think they could never remember them all and yet, no matter what, whenever they see you they take the time to say hello and see how you are. Salt of the earth ! And Cheerio II, well, she’s a lovely Yawl, built in 1931, was the last boat of Errol Flynn’s. But the Mcnish’ have lovingly restored and maintained her for over 30 years.
I snapped this shot of her at attention in front of the Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club cannon during festivities on “opening day”.
