Opening Day Approaching for Lobster Season

Published by sailtimeci at 5:34 am under Random Thawt

So, back at the fish fry the other night, Mike and Jim were talking about opening day for lobsters. I like lobster alot! But I’ve never considered going out and getting them for myself. I chalk this up to my failure as a bird hunter, fisherman and pig farmer. I didn’t give it much more thought. At least, not until I saw this scene on my daily bike ride today. This “party” sport fishing boat is capable of taking 85 anglers for a puke-alicious extravaganza. But today it appears loaded and I mean loaded with what look like lobster traps to me. I counted approximately five traps high by 20 rows a side. That means this boat probably has around 200 traps! At first I thought maybe they rent people traps and take them out to pick them up. But there are so many traps on the boat I dont see how it could hold passengers. Maybe this is just another angle to their biz?

LOBSTERS!!!! I have only had California lobsters once —and it wasn’t like a Mainer—but I’d be willing to have another go at it!!!

You’re making me homesick! As a kid, I lived on Silver Strand and went to school on Hollywood Beach. Hundreds of lobster memories! The best of California, totally.
