Outstanding California ASA Sailing School

Published by sailtimeci at 5:05 pm under SailTime

SailTime Channel Islands Sailing School was just awarded as an Outstanding Sailing School facility by the American Sailing Association! Thanks to all students who let ASA know about their experience with our program. Only 20 sailing schools were awarded this achievement in 2007 and only three of them, including us, are located on the West Coast. Without Captain Dan and the unique partnership we have forged with Sail Channel Islands, having a sailing school at all would not have been possible.oustanding.jpg
I met Dan in 2005 not long after I had begun this SailTime base. We only had one boat and it was becoming increasingly apparent that we needed to offer instruction in order to grow the business. Ever since then, this operation has morphed into an instructional program that has helped a lot of people get on the water with skills that help them prepare for what is certainly an adventurous hobby. We’ve graduated about 10 Members as N2C Captains and in so doing have enjoyed many trips to the BVI to lead our graduation flotillas.

There is no other program on the West Coast like ours. We offer intimate private lessons that assure proper training. Once a member achieves 103 certification they are able to bareboat our yachts. One must achieve certification to 105 to participate on a tropical flotilla. Each Winter we offer refresher clinics to keep everyone engaged and working on their skills.

    Chris,
Get Capt. Dan a yak hat and I’ll follow him anywhere.
