SailTime Channel Islands Member of the Year

Published by at 4:24 pm under SailTime

One of the rituals of our annual Member Appreciation Party, is to recognize and award those who went above and beyond everyday membership. This year was an easy decision for choosing the Member of the Year award. Dwight and Chris Landis spearheaded and managed a monthly event we fondly call the Full Moon Frolic. Each month they plan a menu, organize the membership onto three of our Hunter 36′s and then run a dock party after the boats go out for what has evolved into a fun race event.

As you can see, my hat is off to you Dwight…and Chris (not in the picture). You two make my life easier and enrich the sailing experience for all SailTime sailing club members here at our base on the Ventura coastline of Southern California.

What makes Sailtime CI what it is? A GREAT base manager and GREAT members. I look back at 2008 and what a year it was! We had a number of memorable FMF and a fantastic Parade of Lights entry to end the year. Thanks for the honor Chris, but Christine and I can’t take all of the recognition. Both you and all of the members deserve a lot of credit for our accomplishments. Let’s make 2009 better than ever!
