SailTime Channel Islands Member of the Year

Published by at 3:45 am under SailTime

We had our annual holiday party for members this past weekend. There was a nice turnout. Once you learn that the schwag is pretty good at this event you tend to show up every year ! I offered a high quality gear bag this year. SailTime Channel Island Member of the Year 2007 - John McKinney
The philosophy here includes a good dose of recognition in our little community. It adds something extra to each member’s experience. The crown jewel of that recognition is Member of the Year. This year, I chose John McKinney. He is one of our long time members who really makes having the base a lot of fun. He introduces the program and the sport to lots of people and is quick to always crew for another member. This year, he and his wife, Jane, even hosted a great BBQ for all members at their new harbor home. We’ve sailed in Spain and the Caribbean together and this coming spring are headed for the Leeward Islands of French Polynesia in the South Pacific.

At the party we also recognize all members who attained the status of “SailTime Captain” in the past year (2007 = 3). A catered dinner, slide show of the year and anonymous gift exchange (cutthroat style) rounded out an action packed get together !
