Once again the SailTime Newport Beach Base is a sponsor for the Annual Women’s Sailing Convention held in their harbor and presented by the Southern California Yachting Association. This year, the event will be held on Saturday, February 6th, from 8:30AM to 9:30PM at the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club.

This year features over 25 workshops to choose from, including both land-based and on-water seminars conducted by an equal number of outstanding women sailors. The featured speaker is Captain Patty Garfield who is one of the very few female boat sales brokers in a male dominated industry. In addition to her many accomplishments, you will hear how she and a friend competed as a double-handed entry in the 2005 Transpac.

The day long event is for women who would like to learn how to sail this year as well as life-long sailors looking for continuing education and meeting new friends. Topics in the seminar cover basics, racing, cruising and boat maintenance.
