Spring comes early to the Southern California sailboat racing scene. In fact, today was the 4th and final race in the Spring Series held by Pierpoint YC of Ventura. All the SailTime boats were out and Sancerre was at the islands doing charter duty, so I took a great walk on the shore by the Channel Islands Harbor entrance and snapped this picture of a returning sailboat. I saw quite a few Anacapa Yacht Club boats coming home from their day of racing. Anacapa is a fun club I’ve been a member of for 2 years. It’s a laid back volunteer organization of very dedicated members. I tend bar for the Wet Wednesday racing series which runs from April to October on Wednesday evenings. SailTime sponsors some crew prizes and I generally promote the name with this core crowd of area sailors.
