Summer SailStice Sailing Party
We held our annual SailStice Sailing Party and Open House today. It gives sailors who are considering SailTime the opportunity to see all the boats and actually enjoy a sail while meeting our Members and Instructor who Captain the yachts. It was hot today - easily in the 80’s - which is a good ten degrees warmer than normal. Usually, even though it can be quite hot ten miles inland, our weather is completely ruled by the ocean. But not today, even here, the desert blast had won out over the sea breeze.
All five boats took passengers out on a fairly calm sea. When they all got back to the dock, I served up my now legendary Red Hots from the grill and we had the customary Full Sail beer along with a variety of beverages and snacks. All in all we hosted about 20 prospective members. This event and our participation in the Annual Ventura County Boat Show are our major marketing events of the year here.
