Getting to the Winter Projects at SailTime Channel Islands
When January rolls around we get busy with “winter” maintenance projects. Even though we sail year around here, the usage in January is lighter than most months. Big jobs like hauling a boat out for hull inspection and a fresh covering of bottom paint don’t impede on Members sailing opportunities this time of year. I laugh when I say its January, because it was 85 degrees today, warmer than most Summer days. Ideal sailing conditions. Even now in the late evening I have several windows open!
We pulled Varekai out on Monday afternoon and Colin waxed her hull Tuesday and Wednesday. This is Varekai’s “mid-point” haul, inspect and paint maintenance service we provide to Owners during the 5 year contract period of the SailTime program. Of particular note; this is done at no additional expense to the Owner who would otherwise bear the brunt of the entire cost. As well, they would have to take the time out of their life to get the boat to the yard and back… these kinds of benefits begin to stack up over the course of five years!
Oh yea – Varekai has Member space open right now. Why not go sailing with all this great “winter” weather!
