Ventura County Boat Show 08
It’s boat show time here at the Channel Islands Harbor. Come enjoy this great low key show, running through Sunday, befitting of this Northern nook of the Southern California sailing scene. We are showing 1421, our newest Hunter 36 in the fleet. Our placement is good which is important in these types of events. There can be plenty of bad places, but fortunately here, all of the sailboats are on one dock and all of the power boats are on another. So the same people have to walk past us and then come back to leave. Two chances to say hi ! This year, we are in between a Lagoon 38 catamaran, which is the big draw of the row, and a Beneteau 37 which is the same size as ours for people to compare. Very few people have left our boat saying they like the Benny more. I’d like to think one of the reasons is because our boat is SailTime ready - properly polished and gleaming. Theirs looks decidedly dull and the stark euro interior has a very strong chemical odor that has flushed more than a few people straight out !
Here’s Captain Dan wooing yet another victim into our web of fun and adventure. For so many, boat shows are a place you go and look at boats you will never have and there, standing in the middle of fantasy row, lies reality; SailTime ! For the cost of a car payment you sail on a brand new boat just like you own it. It’s worth checking out.

Jeez Chris, couldn’t you find any better subjects to photograph?
Not a bad pic actually, nice composition.
