Ventura Lunch Run is Always Fun
We packed two of the Hunter 36’s with Members this past weekend and sailed from Oxnard to Ventura. It’s a fun way to slow down and relax. You can drive the 7 miles between Channel Islands Harbor and Ventura Harbor in about 10 minutes. Sailing it is much more fun! Especially when there is good company even if the wind and the sun don’t cooperate. Which is what we got; deep marine layer of high level fog and light shifty winds.
After docking at “Charlie 5″ we walked the busy harbor promenade to Le Petit which had been decided unanimously as our gastromonique destination. I cant say enough good things about this little gem. There are plenty of tempting dining choices at the Ventura Harbor. Unfortunately for all of them, it’s just hard to beat a dockside french bistro. Feeling more like a nap, aprés le petit déjeneur, we did manage the leisurely sail back home to Oxnard. I never tire of this popular local day sail!

Great that you got a place to dock the boats! I remember a time when we had to call and ask for a delivery. Wonderful sandwiches, etc.!
