Welcome New Members!
Welcome aboard to new Members, Ken and Cathy Beyer. By a stroke of luck, a visit to Greece last year included some sailing, which of course led them to decide to take up the sport seriously. It’s clear, this couple follows through on decisions.
I caught this shot of them receiving some sort of secret seamanship skills from their instructor on our teaching boat, Sweet Deal. We use this sailboat for ASA 101 lessons before moving on to their SailTime boat, which in this case is Varekai, one of our Hunter 36′s, for the 103 lessons which they are returning for this coming week. The couple own and operate their own business in Phoenix and are fortunate enough to have grown children who run it for them in their absence, which I predict is going to be more often in 2010. Ken and Cathy are using us as their getaway spot. What other pastime offers sport and a place to lay your head at night all in one package!
