Winter Sailing at its’ Best in Southern California

Published by sailtimeci at 8:07 pm under Sailing

Well it took awhile, but the weather returned to the perfection we call Southern California on Saturday, allowing us to get back at it. After several weeks of weather found only in the rest of the world we are having an excellent weekend !Hunter 326 - Imagine - Channel Islands Harbor
This Fall and winter has defied the La Nina predictions, when, like clock work, weather fronts began pummeling us from the Northwest which would be followed immediately by a Santa Ana wind event. This pattern persisted for about 8 weeks culminating in our major rain event which brought about 4 inches of the wet stuff to Channel Islands Harbor. Weather washed out Christmas week and New Years week. But according to long range forecasts, that could be about it for this season.

I snapped this pic of SailTime members, Dean and Richard, sailing on Imagine as they stampeded on a reach away from the harbor on Saturday.
