Winter Sailing Clinics for SailTime Members

Published by sailtimeci at 11:52 pm under SailTime

During the Winter months here at Channel Islands Harbor we offer our SailTime club Members a variety of seamanship and sailing clinics. In the Summer everyone is too busy and the boats go out most days. But in the Winter, the pace is slower and we don’t get in anybodies way when we reserve a sailboat for this activity.

BJ and Randy Prepare for a Day of Spinnaker Training on Bodacious, one of our Hunter 36′s in the fleet.

Our first clinic of the Winter; The Anacapa Run was held before the holidays. Anacapa is one of the Channel Islands located about 11 miles from our harbor. Then, last weekend, we held our Heavy Weather/Spinnaker clinic. The wind was perfectly light, so we covered the spinnaker side of sailing. Maybe next time we will get some heavy weather! Upcoming clinics include our annual Safety at Sea as well as our ever popular Ventura Lunch Run. The Winter sailing here this season has been pretty darn good. We even got a 10-day stretch of 80+ degree temps which is an added bonus on the water around here any time of year.
