November provided for some great sailing and lessons were abundant for your Captain.

Our next 105 class is just around the corner. It starts up January 14 for 5 Saturday mornings. Call me to learn more. If you are going to the BVI in June this is the class for you ! We had a little confusion and a bunch of busted attempts at spinnaker clinics. Cie la vie - We will pack the Winter with some good clinics for all so stay tuned.

This month, I unveil a clinic I've been working on and am excited to present. Safety at Sea will encompass MOB work and employ the Life Sling as well as discussions and practice with various other potential disasters that can be averted with a little know how. We'll dock under sail, simulate a lost rudder and more. You really can't afford to miss this one ! There is still a few spaces left on both clinics so dont miss out !

Call Chris for space. 1 or 2 spaces remain. 12/4 - Holiday Gathering - 3-7 pm AYC Pot Luck - Call Chris to bring side or desert and a fun gift to exchange. Surprises, entertainment and more ! Holiday Party Update Make plans now to come out with family and friends to the harbor for our first annual holiday gathering, Sunday December 4th from 3-7pm at the Anacapa Yacht Club. It will be a pot luck. We'll provide a ham, turkey and a roast. Call or email Chris to provide a side or desert. if everyone will bring a fun nautical gift to exchange we'll provide a couple of other surprises and certainly some form of entertainment ! We've heard from almost all members now and just about everyone is coming. Even if you can only stay a minute stop by for the fun ! DIRECTIONS TO: Anacapa Yacht Club Drive downn Victoria past H&S yacht sales. Before you get to the old ramps and the coast guard station turn right at the end of the dry storage facility- Channel Islands Landing. Park there and walk down to the harbor. 2006 36 is 99.9% There.
As of this writing we are that sure we have a new Owner Member. I hesitate to just flat out say it's here because I have not seen the approved stamp or gotten a delivery date yet. But suffice to say that this will most likely come to pass in the next few days. Which means, we will be taking 36 members on a first come first serve basis. You, the membership have first shot at the space. So if you want to hold a space, let me know. The monthly membership on the yet unamed vessel is set at $595 thanks to a whopping recent 30% increase in slip fees set to go into effect 1/06. Member sailing on the new 36 will probably begin either mid February or March1st.

Spinnaker/Non Spinnaker Memberships
As we graduate competent spinnaker sailors we will begin to offer two kinds of membership - spinnaker and non spinnaker. Spinnaker members will pay an additional $25-30 a month. As you know, these rigs cost a bunch of money and this helps us offset that cost.

Maintenance Notes
Rainbow is still scheduled for a haul soon for some general post delivery fixes which we will fit in around you. Imagine's major bottom job/sail reconditioning is now scheduled for the week of January 9-13.

Vacation Planning
We are in the very final pre-planning stages of BVI, June 17-24 2006. Come to the Holiday Gathering to learn more and see photos from the November trip !

At SailTime's annual base meeting Dec8-11, Spain June 2007 is on the agenda. If you have a passing interest in being a part of this let me know at the Holiday Gathering so I can get a rough idea to take to the meeting.

The SoCal bases are making preliminary plans for a La Paz cruise in 2007 or 2008 !
