Hi Shipmates !
Boy was October a bust or what ? I'm going to blame it on global warming... October is usually the best

month for sailing. But November could make up for it. We graduated another Henry in October. Congrats to Cesar Garcia who passed 105 with flying colors ! Speaking of 105, want to make the winter go by ? Our next 105 class starts up January 14 for 5 Saturday mornings. Call me to learn more.

We've got a bunch of Fall clinics on the calendar now: Imagine sailors can taste the exhileration of spinnaker sailing on 11/6. Then Rainbow members can hone their heavy weather skills on 11/20.

In December, I unveil a clinic I've been working on and am excited to present. Safety at Sea will encompass MOB work and employ the Life Sling as well as discussions and practice with various other potential disasters that can be averted with a little know how. We'll dock under sail, simulate a lost rudder and more. You really can't afford to miss this one !

Holiday Party
Make plans now to come out with family and friends to the harbor for our first annual holiday gathering, Sunday December 4th from 3-7pm at the Anacapa Yacht Club. It will be a pot luck. We'll provide a ham and a roast. Call or email Chris to provide a side or desert. if everyone will bring a fun nautical gift to exchange we'll provide a couple of other surprises and certainly some form of entertainment !

2006 33, 36 and 38 and 41 at H&S
Right now, H&S Yacht Sales on Victoria Avenue have, at one time and in one place, the new 2006 Hunter's. Stop by or give us a call and we will go over with you and show you around. We currently have several prospects for a 36 which we want to get in the water just as soon as we can. Membership on a new 36 is slated to cost $575 per month.

Spinnaker/Non Spinnaker Memberships
As we graduate competent spinnaker sailors we will begin to offer two kinds of membership - spinnaker and non spinnaker. Spinnaker members will pay an additional $25-30 a month. As you know, these rigs cost a bunch of money and this helps us offset that cost.

Maintenance Notes
Rainbow is scheduled for a haul soon for some general post delivery fixes which we will fit in around you. Imagine's major bottom job/sail reconditioning has been postponed to the first of the year to give you more sailing time this late fall and early winter.

Vacation Planning
We are in the final pre-planning stages of BVI, June 17-24 2006. At SailTime's annual base meeting next month, Spain June 2007 is on the agenda and the SoCal bases are making preliminary plans for La Paz in 2007 or 2008 !
