Now the fun really begins! Late Summer and Fall can produce conditions sailors around the world seek out. So, make sure you schedule some fun sailing time into your life this month!

NOTICES
New Members! Please give a hearty welcome to new Varekai Members, Ken and Cathy Beyer. We are excited you made the decision to become sailors!
Frolic Notes: The Frolic in September is on the 12th so that it did not interefere with your Labor Day plans. Enjoy the last of the sundown/twilight sailing as we will plunge into darkness the next time this is an evening event. Bah! In October the frolic will come out in full sunlight for our first ever "Owners Challenge" when all boats will compete in a fun race followed by an afternoon dock party on Oct 17th. This is guaranteed to be fun for all!
"Heads" Up! - We had a rash of head clogging in the month of August. 3 out of 5 boats were hit with this malady. In all three cases, when we took the head apart we found evidence of a Tampon being flushed down the toilet. Please make sure you instruct your guests on the use of the head and what doesn't go down there. This comes with a $100 charge top the offending member so please take care to inform.
Sicily 2010 - Final planning is underway, books and charts are ordered, flights are beginning to be considered. About mid month this month we will reserve the boats to get the best possible pricing. Imagine 2 full weeks of sailing through history when we visit the Aeolian Islands and the North Coast of Sicily. This truly will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience which we hope you will join us on.
